Provide year-end gifts: Knowledge is love and light and vision!
One of my favorite quotes is "Knowledge is love and light and vision" Helen Keller. This time of year, we took the Christmas lights for our Santas that we were good all year and deserve a gift. Well, to business owners, the best gifts are the gifts of great advice. This advice and knowledge that gives us love, light and vision - if we let it.
For many owners business, extending ourselves into new areas can be uncomfortable. Most people resist change and fear of the unknown. Years ago, having a site I worry more attractive site. Next networks, social media, which seemed to be a task that would drain all my time. But once he arrived to be more open to receiving the advice and knowledge of others who were doing these things, I realized that was not so bad.
I'll give you two examples. First Instead, three years ago, I participated in the Mentor Protégé program Governor of Georgia. Firm Heery International was my mentor. It was a blessing. One thing that encouraged me to do was take my simple one page website to another level. Your marketing staff urged me to create a website that was more attractive. They explained that people today want to learn more about the business behind the scenes. They want to know more about the history, mission, objectives, services, founders, etc. For me, personally, I do not mind when I visited web sites others. "I felt that I had time to read lots of web pages. In fact, I found that to be annoying. I just wanted to get the information I needed and that was it. But now I'm realizing that taking the time to learn as much as possible about job prospects and potential team members is just normal ole good for business. So when other business owners complain that they do not have time to Internet surfing, I say is not theirs. It's about doing what is best for your business.
To grow my consulting business Lemongrass, I have been working in a revenue model that incorporates social media. First, the advice and assistance Heery and renewed my plain one page website to a more interactive. Now we have thirteen (13) pages that include a blog fan page, and archived newsletters.
Then I took some classes of media social offered through trade organizations, and read articles on business issues. I learned ping, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, contact constant, and blogs. I created a flowchart that I call a revenue model. The model starts with the identification of our target market on the basis of ideal clients of their service offerings and revenue and geographic locations, and if we have other synergies and commonalities (our race, gender, experience). Then target these people and try to connect with them online. I've done well as a rookie. Now I have more than 1,000 connected to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Outlook. Now I use to capture the essential these connections. The total is over 4,000.
My microblogging revenue model includes daily by posting a few things about what I have to go, the importance of strategic planning, famous quotes and words of encouragement. I have a WordPress blog I try to write weekly, the conversion of the blogs weekly articles, published blogs in social groups, media for market penetration, and a monthly newsletter constant contact more than 1,000 subscribers. I also new connections a free ebook that I wrote which are business development advice. These are all tools marketing. It keeps my mind firmly in the minds of the people ', and I'm building a community. I can use Google Analytics and I realize I have around 100 visitors month to our website.
No matter how much you make, you can always do more. Next year, I co more on the website of my connections "And take the time to get more involved in dialogue with them. I want to be sure to thank people for connecting with me and take our conversations online via teleconference programming and face to face meetings.
But back to the importance of being open to good advice. I mentioned that two examples. This is the second. The first time he renewed the website, I posted online that was conducted last. Well, one of my connections told me to do something rather than having a Contact Us link that allows people to e-mail. She said, "Clovio, I hope not that this has given me constructive criticism." I replied that I did not care. But it took me years to become open to changing that feature. know if it was me, ignorance, or what. However, This year, finally renewed the Contact Us link to capture more information about visitors to our website. Also ask them to share their needs planning and choosing services that may be interested in investing in.
The conclusion is that we need to see constructive criticism and advice business as a gift of love. For me, as Helen Keller said, knowledge is the gift of light and vision. This holiday, give and accept the light and vision!
