I can place an image (png perhaps) behind a video (embed video on Vimeo) in WordPress 2.7?

You can add a background image to a div containing some of the video, if you do it through your style sheet (CSS). for example. In the page code:

Then in CSS:. Video {background: url (url of your png) no-repeat}
