1. Define your goals - Think about what is the purpose of the site. Are you there to sell their products and services or to highlight your business and get more customers for their services? Knowing the purpose will help you and your job of designing a successful site.

2. General Design and mood - What want people to think and feel when they visit your website? What do you consider your business image? What colors do you like and prefer? What kind of styles do you like?

3. Design and navigation - Look at other websites that are in the same business. Search for sites that already use and like to have a basic idea of the distribution that is as the place to be.

4. How many pages or sections of the site? Will you have sub? It's a good idea to remove the sections the site to get a better handle on how you structured information.

5. Want to build the same site, update the same site, or your designer to do all the work and updates so you can concentrate on your business? Know in advance how it will affect the site is built. Using a service such as home or sitebuilder might be a good option to do it yourself, but you will face your site looking the same as all others who use the template. Or you can hire a designer to do the job, but make their own updates using Macromedia Contribute content management or program such as WordPress or Joomla.

6. If you are selling products, what you sell via PayPal or some other form of online payment system, or build a shopping cart? A ir shopping cart site is better for a lot of products. Paypal is ideal for billing of services, classes, or a small number of products.

7. Will you be sending a list of email newsletter and the need for a registration form on the site? If so, use sites like constant contact, the vertical response, or Aweber is a good place to start. With these services, you have the option of adding a signal from one box to your website, very ease.

8. Domain name - Have you chosen the domain name for your site? The domain name is the address of the page, something like your physical direction. It should be short and to the point that people can remember when they see it written or heard. Who will remember a long website name complicated?

9. Does hosting for your website? If not, you will need to get some. Hosting is where you put the files on your web site on the Internet. I prefer using Godaddy solutions or network because they are affordable and easy to use and configure.
