How I can use a WordPress blog to broadcast an event / meeting invite?

I have a WordPress Blog a group and would like to arrange a meeting with users of the blog. can i issue an invitation to blog? I would like users to indicate whether or not attend the event / meeting.

You could issue an invitation, but for all they do, everything would have to be subscribed to your RSS feed. For them indicates if present, could be used to invite comment on the post.
