WordPress Mu Redirecting non-www to www

You have installed WordPress MU on Apache and wrote a few blog posts. Now when you go to your site by typing url www version (eg www.yourblog.com) the url will automatically be switched to non-www version? But it is necessary to obtain the www version instead?

Ok. This is what you have to do

1) Login to WordPress MU admin
2) The "Site Admin" left side menu -> "Blogs" and click your blog
3) Change the URL of the site to http://www.yourblog.com http://yourblog.com
4) Scroll down and click "Options Update "

Now all requests not redirect www to www version.

(The procedure is similar in WordPress where regular necessary to change the "Blog URL addresses" in admin -> Settings -> General)

Of course this work is necessary to have Apache mod_rewrite installed and enabled on your server.

Url maintain a single version is the search engine. Say you allow your site can access all these addresses URL. www.yourblog.com, yourblog.com and yourblog.com / index.php. All this points to a page. This can lead to fractures pagerank, backlinks division and, finally, you're risking getting duplicate content filtering by the new filters in Google.
