It is unfortunate that a large percentage of bloggers do not set your WordPress blog to accept comments properly. Comments are very important to the success of your blog, so take the time to do it right.

The most frustrating aspect of this problem is that when taken few minutes to create, which I think is a great comment, only to discover that his comment is not accepted. Everyone loses: The blog owner is tricked into a comment valuable. Comments are very important for successful blog.

An example:

I have a particular problem with a plug-in that reads: "How are you in math? "This plug is often the incorrect setting.

Before a comment appears:

* An administrator must always approve a comment - check the box - Also, very important
* Comment author must fill out name and email - check the

Anyone may register: You want to check this box, as we want it easy for people to comment on articles, right? There is no good reason to restrict who can log ... remember that you will be able to moderate comments before they are displayed.

Users must be registered and logged in to leave Comment: Do not want to see this picture, and unless you are running a membership site or some other exclusive site, not a creator wants to comment to that effort. Do not.

Default user: This is where you can get into some real trouble! I know first hand what can happen here. He had chosen the default user to be "Author", not "Collaborator". I wanted it to be easy people to comment on my work. Also, Like many bloggers, was naive and I leave my post without moderation first.

This worked well for a year or so, until a day I visited my blog for sure some of the most disgusting pornographic pictures I've seen. What a way to make a big impression on your readers. I have no idea how many hundreds of people who have seen these images.

It was interesting how they did it. Robots were used to find blogs pornography.

I went in and removed the "comments" and banned spammers always "contribute" to my blog again. Sure to change the default user new collaborator - no author. Read more to see what else to do.

Email me whenever anyone posts a comment. Let me know if I received a comment. If it's a good comment, I adopt it immediately. If it is trash, I wonder, well.

Another reason for wanting to be sent by email is so that you can click on your comments and they will take you to your website within WordPress.

I do everything possible to return the favor a comment from someone comments on my work. That is a good habit to follow. It's going to make some fast friends and make people post more comments. In a sense, you are building a community.

Before a comment appears an administrator must always pass a comment. This may be the most important control is. Spammers have stayed away from my blog, you can not get their trash published.

Yes, I know you think you did it right. But how? The best way to test it is to have a friend visit your blog and ask them to create a comment. If you can enter a comment, not being an administrator or not logged in, then anyone can.
