Tumblr visitor stats - how to add code Statcounter visitor against Tumblr blogs

Sometimes, its nice to know who has been visiting your blog and where they came, rather than just a numbers game - "I had so many visitors last week", etc. Make good use of statistics of visits may help you tune copy and content if you are a serious online marketer.

And if you're not, then there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the number daily visitors increased from week to week. If nothing else, it shows you're doing something right.

Blogger and WordPress blog platforms make it very easy to quickly add statistical programs such as Google Analytics and StatCounter through its panels administrator. In the case of Blogger, you simply need to add a gadget HTML / Javascript and copy and paste the StatCounter tracking code on it. It's that simple.

However, when I got to add StatCounter statistics to my Tumblr account, I found it rather more difficult.

Tumblr blogging "> Tumblr is described as" a blogging platform that allows users to post text, images, videos, links, quotes and audio to your tumblelog, short-form blog. Users can "follow" other users and see their Messages together in your dashboard. They can like or reblog other blogs on the site and other users can do the same to your posts. The service emphasizes the customization and ease of use "(see target =" _blank "title =" Tumblr Wikipedia explains "> wikipedia)

I've been using to compare a fantasy iPod playlist, publishing a music track or a different YouTube video each day. Now I have a steady stream of fellow music lovers after my post.

I could not find anything on the help pages and the majority of online searches did a blank.

Then I learned, almost by accident, the nugget of information that needed: how to install Javascript in your Tumblr template, and what I would like to share that information here with you.

As with all changes template, please, please make sure you have a backup somewhere else (expand widgets if you are making these changes in the Blogger template) how things can go wrong and be very, very difficult to recover. You have been warned! (But do not let that put you off trying in total).

So in my case, I wanted to install the custom tracking javascript provided by StatCounter. This is what they do.

1 - Log in to your Tumblr account.

2 - Click on "Customize" link.

3 - Click on "Theme" and select "Use custom HTML".

4 - moves to the end of the code and paste the code StatCounter Shortly before the </ body> </ html>.

5 - Do not forget to click "Save changes ".

6 - Re-enter your account StatCounter to check that it is recording visits
