How I can use WordPress as a CMS?

Hey guys ... I'm setting up a new portal type website called the.ImaGenarY. It can see a project here. http://www.theimagenary.com. My question is how to use a Content Management System (preferably WordPress) to transmit content on my site? I want to be able to function subsequent titles in the contents and main the main part of my site just updated through the CMS. I know this is a complex issue, but if you could tell me some guidelines that would be great. I have experience in HTML and CSS but not so hard when it comes to XML, RSS and PHP etc. Thanks!

Although WordPress is primarily known as a blogging tool, at some point used as CMS with little more than hard work:). With some modifications, plugins and templates, you can use WordPress as a content management system. Change the look of your WordPress website is very easy with the Theme Editor, and the great thing about templates is that WP is based on PHP. This may seem a bit unfriendly for beginners, but it is very good for us because it means we have much to work.
