Using eStore WP Ecommerce plugin for WordPress

This is not a free plugin, but it is probably the best plugin if you want to sell products (and physical or digital items can be downloaded) that WordPress website.

The plugin works, is inexpensive and has some support from the authors, there a kind of forum. Unfortunately the plugin (in common, I mean all e-commerce WordPress plugins) have certain peculiarities that make it a little uncomfortable to work. We will see in this article how to make it work in a few steps. This tutorial is intended for basic use with Paypal. The plugin has many more options not covered here.

Installation is simple like any other WordPress plugin, except that the name of the plugin is eStore WP and the installation directory for some reason becomes "wp-shopping-for-digital-products", this could be difficult to identify or remember that if you have a lot of plugins. Another annoying thing is that the plugin is updated often enough, but unfortunately the author's e-mail clients, nor shown in WordPress, so you have to visit the site occasionally to see if any updates. How to find this is for me still a little a mystery, you basically find a page (try the forum), where a list of changes and then you have to find another page where you create an update request and sends it out. Even more annoying, you must also indicate the Paypal transaction and the original e-mail to prove they are legitimate. All this takes time, in my case the last update was over an hour because I could not find the Paypal transaction between my thousands of emails and could not remember which of my e-mail address you used to buy the plugin. Once you manage to provide the necessary information you receive an email with a link to download time limited.

A eStore use, once installed, go to WP eStore panel at the bottom left of your WP administration panel, There are nine options each with dozens of panel configurations, as has been said that I will cover the basics. Click Settings and go to General Settings. The important things here are self-explanatory, set Title Purchasing currency Add to Cart button, return URL (thank you page after the transaction) Hide mall image (recommended), and the shipping base. The help says here: "This is in addition to the total shipping products individual ", but adds a fixed amount regardless of the number of items purchased. If you then enter in the Add / Edit panel products in the delivery of a quantity and $ 0.0001 for each element, you get a fixed amount of shipping added to the basket - which is a nice feature for many vendors. Keep scrolling (assuming you're not selling digital products) and check Use automatic payment processing post, using the system WordPress-mail, send emails to the buyer after the purchase. Fill in the email address with your own and edit Subject Buyer e-mail and message body. Address e-mail notification once again, is your own. Details Email the seller can be left alone. At the bottom of this panel there is also a Sandbox mode which is useful Enable to test a transaction using Paypal Sandbox (need to open an account Paypal for this).

Now return to the head (still in the setup menu) and click Setup payment gateway Use check Paypal and enter your Paypal address. There is nothing else to do there at the moment. All settings other can be left alone so you can click Add / Edit products. Enter the product name and price (important: with two decimal places) and changes in the product for you. Imagine that we are selling T-shirts I could fill a color variation | Red | Blue | Yellow Variation 2 with size | Small | Medium | Large sleeves and variation 3 | Short | Length: 20, this will add nothing to the price if the buyer chooses short sleeves + $ 20 if it is long sleeves. Interesting feature.

We will leave all the choices of others only because we have done, that could actually sell our product already. So go to Manage product where you will see a list of items, shirts, for example, an identification number 1. Just create a new post or page and put the shortcode [Wp_eStore: product_id: 1: end] in it, plug-in will do the rest.When edit or create a post / page in visual mode you can also click on the icon eStore and get all the short codes you need, including viewing the shopping cart (there is also a separate widget to display the shopping sidebar). Even more short codes can be downloaded and displayed in WordPress as another plugin.

If you need to customize things, a little more difficult because it is a plugin eStore complex with more than 170 files. I always I have a very difficult to change CSS and PHP files to change the spacing example, the configuration of icons and so on, depending on the theme you use and what delicate they are. Whatever the change is a change log maintained because, as apparently the plugin is updated frequently.

One last word about the useful ability to sell digital products. This works very well and is undoubtedly the best feature of the plugin. I recommend you configure it to send the customer a link download via email after purchase. This is done automatically and can also choose the duration of the download link, number of discharge permits, and best of all is actually encrypted link so the customer really do not see the actual link (which you can store your digital files to any part of the product in place). This is done in Settings / General Settings, which defines the main settings, and Edit Product / Details of digital content in which indicates (in addition to prices, etc. name as before) the actual full url for the item and low, do not forget to check download. As has been said that the customer will not see here.

As the plugin offers many more options, including categories, subscription payments, coupons / discounts, and more. My favorite Statistics is useful, especially in selling digital products, it's nice to wake up in the morning and see how products were sold completely on autopilot, nothing left to do ... the dream of every internet marketer.
