What is the best place to start a blog?

Over time, if successful, I'd be able to monetize to place adsense ads using Google services, but for now I'd like something that would be able to display images I can stay at another place, or videos from sites like YouTube. I would also have an RSS feed which would be able to decide whether to 'push' on the blog any publication to be published feed reader a user, or just preview to be have to click back to my blog. I would start with at least get my own url for people to have a address easy to remember URL instead of a longer and more complex. What is the best blogging software you suggest? What are the pros and cons of sites like Blogger or WordPress? What should I consider when it comes to things like Facebook and Twitter integration? And the ability of people to comment on posts I write are very important too.
