WordPress Robots.txt

What permissions (CHMOD) to use for the Uploads folder and the images inside in WordPress?

I have read every piece of information I found, but there is nothing that clearly specifies what permissions are best for the Uploads folder on WordPress, and for all the images. I need to know this because seems that my images are blocked for indexing robots.txt is not something that I suppose is the CHMOD. The Uploads folder is 755 and some images are 777, while others are 666. Can you help?

I always tried to go with 755 first, 777, as a last resort.
