Need help finding better tools to convert my WordPress site into a community.?

What I need is extremely simple, but I spent days Free WordPress Plugins browsing and premium but the truth is that either looked really bad, do not have enough options or simply cost more than I need. Ok I need four basic functions: 1 - Subscriptions simple login / register sidebar widget in the 2 - Subscribers have profiles / avatar editing capabilities 3 - Ability to send a "new members" widget in the sidebar (not important) 4 - Subscribers must be able to send messages (using tiny MCE as the back-end), but in front! Messages posted by users to be held in the form of projects for moderation. Please do not suggest BuddyPress as in wrong with my theme! That's it. I missed four days trying to resolve this and my google was not successful. Any help will get a big thank you! Best Ziad

You almost answered his own question with "simple way to cost a lot of what I need." Simply put, WordPress is a blogging tool / Publisher. Now we want to be a publishing tool for the community (similar to a forum) and was not designed that way. Contrary to his first statement, you need not extremely simple. Given what you want and taking into account the underlying structure of WordPress, it's pretty hard to get it to work. So , to answer your question: you have two options: 1) pay for widgets WordPress / addons to do what you want. Were difficult to code, and therefore will cost a bit. Or .. 2) Make your site more suitable to a community based tool or forums. Either way, it will cost to convert. It's just up to you to decide if the cost is worth bearing in mind what you want.
