Free Internet Marketing for psychologists and other therapists
You may be surprised that there are more online searches for therapists through the Yellow Pages. Many therapists have already left the Yellow Pages to be expensive and not working. A growing number of people who say, "If your not on the internet, I'm not interested. "Check this to continue increasing at an exponential rate.
Marketing yourself is a public service. This means that people know how to serve them. His presence on the Internet allows people looking for someone to help resolve any pain that are If you have no Internet presence, many people will find and determine whether you can serve them. Marketing is making its presence known. It is not difficult sell, trying to ram anything down the throat of anyone. Advertising is presenting itself in most people who are not interested in what you have to offer. This is why most do not produce print advertising customers.
An Internet presence can be initiated (or extended) for free, using these methods.
Get it in the free listing sites
Many sites have two free and paid listings. It usually start with the free list. I found my free shows in the first search page of Google within a week. Start by seeing if your organization professional has a list. These are usually free. Then check with other mental health groups you belong to and see if they have listed, eg. Anxiety Disorders Association of America. Some are free. Some have additional charges.
Find the listing of business sites in Google. This will also allow you indicated on maps Google, showing at the top of Google searches. Do the same for Yahoo's business. Find other businesses and mental health sites listing in Google search "sites free enterprise data, "without mental health sites listing", etc.
Create a free website
Before create a website, create a profile in one of the social networking sites such as Linkedin.com or Biznik.com. The consensus is that a website is now a need for therapists. That will greatly increase its presence and legitimacy beyond having your profile listed in different places. You can quickly create a simple site. You will to present information about the pain of those customers would most like to see. This will attract their "Ideal Client" much more than if you describes as "a loving person that provides a safe place," the conventional wisdom, etc, is that their content is 80% of the client and 20% itself.
Do not wait until there is a perfect place to plan. Best to get a functional site up as soon as possible. Websites are dynamic entities. You will have to improve, probably, add and delete times what they started with. The way it gives others an idea of who and what you are. Be sure to include a photo of himself shot in the head with a big smile.
Start with your DSL provider and see what they offer. Google "free websites." Search templates that you like, flexibility, expandability, etc. Many free sites also allow you to expand your site, more than a month fee. Most options will cost between $ 5 and $ 10 a month.
Consider creating a blog
Some start a blog, instead of a website. Usually a website is more versatile and should be your first priority. A blog, probably best served, the more specific, ie, focuses on a niche, such as ADHD, OCD, two popular free sites etc. to start a blog blogspot.com and wordpress.com. If you make a blog, the goal of writing at least twice a month.
Media
The use of social media is expanding and will continue growing. It is a way to connect with friends and colleagues and others found. Therapists and others are increasingly finding ways to market through the media.
One of the most popular is YouTube.com. Although primarily used for entertainment, is increasingly used to education and marketing. I think video has been widely underutilized by therapists.
Facebook.com has become one of the most popular websites. Some use it to keep in touch with friends and use others for sale. Use it for or the other. If you want to use for both purposes, use an account of personal e-mail profile and business email for business page.
Biznik.com is a place of business, mainly for entrepreneurs. It is a form of network, especially with non-therapists.
Twitter.com is a source that can announce the publication of a document, changes to your website good books and articles, workshops can be offered, things, etc. Many of them offer free as recordings, articles, etc. It's another way of relating to others professionals. It's popularity is exploding.
Linksforshrinks.com is a place for therapists. Part of the impetus would be another legitimate site where can have a link to your website (the links to your site, the best Google find your site). It also has professional forums to discuss professional issues and marketing. No information as much as in the forums for those who use the listing service of Psychology Today, even though it costs about $ 30 a month, which has been a great resource and referral for me.
Like most things, the more you invest in engaging with social media, the more benefit. If enabled, you can expect a minimal increase in traffic website / blog. This may or may not be the same customer references.
Writing articles
Another way to build a presence is to write self-help and other items. The most popular sites for submitting articles is articlesbase.com. You can also send some of the lists and social media sites. When you write, distribute their literature in every way you can. Publish them on your website and blog. Keep copies in your office waiting room. Fax copies, which is relevant to the fax communications. Take me out to the east when fax updates to medical treatment. Provide copies to doctors, schools, clergy, etc.
Beyond content, the writings of others by giving at least an idea of himself. This is an opportunity to learn, like, and trust you. The more passes, more people will come to you to help reach solutions.
Enter your website address and contact information at all
Make sure your address is on their business cards, stationery, fax sheets, etc. Just the fact that you have a web site adds to your credibility, regardless of whether the recipient is interested in throw a glance. Create a "signature file" at the bottom of their email accounts. At a minimum, include your web address, blog, etc. to your name, business address, business phone. Consider putting other information, as it offers a free service, sign up for your newsletter, etc. If you go start a group, speak, etc, consider including such information as is relevant, that is, delete the information after it happened.
In conclusion, we can do these things in one day. However, you can fill in some of these things today. Have reasonable expectations. In making these things, it is unlikely that you have 10 callers a week and want to self-pay. You will find that new customers are increasingly saying, "I found you on the Internet. "Marketing is a dynamic process. In general, our efforts are cumulative.
This is not the end of marketing. You may want to expand in other low-cost strategies, including buying a domain name for your site, using one or more services paid for from the list, etc. Continue to educate yourself on marketing and new ways. Good luck and good marketing.
