WordPress Plugins Security: Half the Battle

You might think that installing some security plugins WordPress does all the work to protect to your site. Plugins security can help make your site more secure (ie, backup database, login blocks). Most people do not realize that there is much more involved in order to protect a WordPress blog.

WordPress is an application powered by PHP and MySQL. Many websites high traffic using MySQL and PHP for large volume data storage. If you are a WordPress user, whenever you create a message or page, the information is stored in its database. Although there are WordPress plugins out there that can help a backup database in case of disaster, you always want to take every precaution place to prevent being hacked.

WordPress developers release a security update when a known vulnerability must be addressed, but it is impossible to seal each pond. In the world of cyber crime, someone will always find a way around it - is inevitable. Even with the addition of the facility plugins to "reinforce" its security, your WordPress site is still under risk. You can, for example, protect your site from brute force password your WP administration area. However, this does not protect its database nor prevent unwanted visitors from entering your server via FTP.
