wordpress pinger

Ping - does not mean anything unless it gets the ping! - Pinglists for beginners

Apart from the obvious bit about SEO plugins (such as platinum SEO) which helps get your site "indexed" (ie search engines can find it) you need to 'ping'. No, not rude rude required of instruments! :) It sounds more difficult to do what it is - but all we need to know what it means and why we need to do first. Why would anyone tells us these things until we are frustrated enough to pull your hair into pieces, I have no idea.

Technically, tennis is a concept that is based on science behind sonar technology by which a "sound" is sent and a measurement of how long the "sound" takes to return to the original source, as an echo-location.

In computing, the ping was originally used to detect problems with the IP addresses or networks. In essence it was a tool management to see if a destination (e-mail address, etc., or network) can be reached. And if it were, whether or not some information is lost transit (called packet loss) due to problems with Internet congestion signal, hardware problems at each end and a host of other factors.

That was in 1983. Roll on 2010 and you can take advantage of advances in technology to allow networks and search engines know that we are here, we have updated our blog or Web site content by sending a little 'ping' for each service. This way you can come and see our new information, which increased our visitors and backlinks - all things that will make the information available to search engines, other bloggers and people who are interested in our topic!

Recently, social media like Facebook, have offered programs that automatically extracts and Networkedblog the new content of your blog or web site at certain times of the day, directly on your Facebook page, making it available to your readers FB. If you have added content between times, you can 'pull' manually, so it is very useful for those of us who are not at the crack of dawn 'ping' things!)

WHEN a Ping?

  • First, you do not want too many pingers in pinglist sometimes twice where to send new content, because eventually you'll have a rap on the knuckles when beneficiaries begin to detect the uber-duplicate content as spam and you leave your pinger nets.
  • Most 'serious' bloggers not ping more than 2 to 3 times a day and only when they have been added modified or rewritten the content of, the reasons given above.

AND AS Ping exactly?

Well, The bad news is that it can take hours and hours manually ping all the different sites and networks that need to know that you have new content. That said, it's really easy to do!

The good news is that there are plenty of programs out there that either free or a little money, not just ping for you, but automatically sent. The other good news is that you can make your blog or website is through RSS (Really Simple Syndication).

RSS ping is sending a signal from your website or blog, via RSS technology, multiple servers, search engines and other Web technologies. The signal tells the recipients that there is new content available via its RSS feed. These sites and search engines are able to index and display the new content or make it available for searching. Basically all you need to know is that RSS is a type of pinger on steroids:)

The advantage of adding a plug-in RSS feeds to your blog is that the icon is usually right on top so that visitors can add your site to their RSS readers with a single click. What this means to you is a moment to add or change content, which is reported and there is an automatic backlink created for the RSS feed. More backlinks are good! But I digress ... RSSing I'll get to in my next article, because there is much to say about it!

For my money, the best ping free service I've found so far is Ping-o-Matic. Ping more than 25 locations. You enter your domain name et voila! its new content is sent across the web.

Another way is to add a "pinglist to your WordPress dashboard. In the column on the left of his desk,

  • Click Settings and then write.
  • In another tab WordPress browser Pinglist go to (Google it)
  • At the bottom of the page have the option to download the list as a text file will make it easy to copy with right mouse button / function to copy or Ctrl C
  • Back on your browser WordPress and go to the bottom of the page write the update services and paste the pinglist, which has been downloaded as a txt file Pinglist WordPress and just copied into the clipboard.
  • Remember to click Save Changes at the bottom of the page

Et voila! you're all done ping. Now was not that easy? Congratulations for being here with me! For more articles in the series ... HOW TO DO IT you know, the things nobody tells you about of ...
