No thanks, my children, friends, neighbors, mom knows someone to do a website ... Yah, good luck with that!

Just a little song to help designers and developers new, fresh out of school and out of its bright future.

First let me start by saying - he learned his trade.

This does not mean taking a few classes and now you're an expert. I have found that many of these people in the past 19 years I can spot a mile away. Thank you though. It keeps us very busy fixing all the hack work that we see out there.

Next, do NOT ATTEMPT TO A MILLION out of a customer!

Try to help clients grow and succeed. This will only help your cause. This is a small industry ... when get a bad name.

Now this bothers a lot of overhead in delivering high a powerful, reliable agencies / vweb designers out there, but good. In last week I had at least 4 phone calls asked me if $ 10,000 to $ 25,000 was too much for a small business site. Ok, I realized it was a 15 pages basic website that already had the content and images taken. They wanted the new designs and added a cms system, to edit content. Maybe I should run $ 2,500 to $ 5,000 tops. This is the basis of need.

I mentioned that you could use WordPress and theme customized plugins (if required) constructed. shazaam! What a concept. Then saved $ 20,000.

Why not help small business and support our community instead of trying to get rich quick off of them. We are all in a mess right now trying to keep our families. There is no such thing as good karma.

Help your customers!

By this I mean that offered more than they promised. Give them all the support they need ... within reason. Customers referr to them and let them know they are doing this to help you succeed. A simple thing as putting a link from their site within a page partner shows he is committed to the realationship. Most customers do not really understand what we do. Educate them. Explain what you are doing and why. Listen to them.

Do the research.

Having a client like your business. The investigation of its competitors. Find out what they are doing and what is working. The more you learn about the business of customers with the knowledge that you have to compete with its competitors. Make a cold call to the competition and they will sell their products or services. This will help you understand more of these phone calls are looking blindly into your site.

INTEGRITY.

Build realationships lasting relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and competitors. I have send me the various agencies and from work. Some companies specialize in certain services you may know, but they are the experts. This goes for you too. Make sure you become an expert in your space. This takes time and speed reducers in many way.
