Top SEO mistakes to avoid

Following are the nine major mistakes SEO web designers and web developers should be avoided.

Splash Page

I've seen this mistake many times where people put just a large banner image and a link "Click here to enter" on their website. Worst cases - the "enter" link is embedded in the Flash object, making it impossible for the spiders to follow the link.

This is fine if you do not matter what the search engine knows about your site, otherwise, you're making a big mistake. Their website is probably higher your website page ranking and tracked frequently by web spiders. Your internal pages will not appear in the search engine index without the proper structure of the pages linking inside the spider to follow.

Your website should include (at minimum) target keywords and links to important pages.

No spiderable Flash menus

Many designers make this mistake by using Flash menus, such as fade-in menus and animated. You can have a fresh look for but can not be seen by search engines, so the links in the flash menu does not follow.

Image and Flash content

Spiders are like a text-based browser, which can not read text embedded in the graphic image or Flash. Most designers make this mistake by adding the important content (such as target keywords) in Flash and image.

Overuse of Ajax

A lot of developers are trying to impress your visitors by implementing massive Ajax features (particularly for navigation), but did you know that is a great SEO mistake? Because Ajax content is loaded dynamically, so it is not spiderable or indexed by search engines.

Another disadvantage of Ajax - from the direction URL does not charge, visitors can not send the current page to your friends.

Theme design versions of

For some reason, some designers love the version of your design theme in sub-level (ie domain.com/v2, V3, V4) and redirect to the new folder. Constantly changing the location of the root can cause major loss of backlinks and ranking features.

Are likely to see much in it where people use "Click here" or "more" as link text. This is great if you want to be high for "Click here. "But if you want to tell the search engine page is important for a topic, use the topic / keyword in the anchor text. It is much more descriptive (and relevant) to say "learn more about {topic} keyword"

Warning: Do not use the same exact text anchor for all parties on its website. This can sometimes be seen as search engine spam too.

Common Mistakes title tag

Titre or similar text:

Each page of your site should have a unique label <title> the target keywords in it. Many developers make the error in the title tags have the same or similar throughout the site. That's like telling the search engine every page of your site relates to the same and one is not more exclusive than the other.

A good example of misuse of the title tag is the default WordPress theme. In case you did not know the title tag the default theme for WordPress is not as useful: Site name> Blog Archive> Post Title. Why is this search engine? Because each blog only have the same text "Site Name> Blog Archive>" at the beginning of the title tag. If you really want to include the name of the site in the title tag should be the end: Post | Name of the site.

Exceeding the limit of 65 characters:

Many bloggers write after long titles. So what? In the pages of search engine results, your title tag is used as a link to the game. It has about 65 characters (including spaces) to convey your message or the risk of getting cut.

Keyword stuffing the title:

Another common mistake people tend to do is overload the title tag with keywords. Saying the same thing three times does not make you relevant. Keyword stuffing in the title tag is considered search engine spam (not good). But it might be wise to repeat the same word in different ways:

"Photo Tips & Photography Techniques for Great Pictures "
"Photo" and "Photograph" is the same word repeated twice, but differently because the public can use when performing a search query.

Empty image Alt attribute

You should always describe its image in the alt attribute. The alt attribute is what describes the image to a blind web user. Guess what? Search engines can not see the images so its alt attribute is a factor in the illustration of what your page is relevant.

Tip: To describe correctly the pictures can help your ranking in the image search results. For example, Google image search brings me hundreds of references every day for your search terms "Abstract" and "dj".

Hostile URL

Most blogs or CMS platforms have a friendly URL feature built However, not all bloggers are taking advantage of this. Friendly URLs are good for both your human audience and search engines. The URL is also an important your keywords should appear.

Example of Friendly URL: domain.com / page-title
Dynamic URL example: domain.com / p = 12356

These the things are the pillars of search engine optimization and therefore the trajectory of success of your website.
