Tutorial: Create a Custom WordPress with a different template

I recently had to create a page in WordPress did not have the bar side of it. I still want the sidebar on all other pages, but no one (that is, an option or sales page).

It took me a while to find the solution, but I have found it works like a charm. It takes some programming skills, but not too bad.

Here's a quick video on how to go about doing it and custom.php to start. Credit goes to Moses on wpthemesplugins.com for the solution. My video only guides you step by step to make it a little easier.

In a nutshell, here are the steps:

1. Custom.php Create a file in your favorite text editor. I use Template: custom

3. Copy the contents of your page.php on your current theme.

4. Paste the code below what you just added to the custom.php

5. Find the code that says <? php get_sidebar (),> and delete it.

6. save custom.php

7. Custom.php FTP to your current theme folder in wp-content> themes> (any topic you are using)

8. Create a new page. In Options, select Custom Page Template>.

9. That's it!
