WordPress Echo

How do you declare a variable inside a php script?
this will be used in a wordpress video page, this is what I get for each page to extract data on the right: $ params = array ('video_id' => ADD-VIDEO-ID ", video_fields '=>' shortDescription name, videoStillURL, id '), so basically I'm trying to replace "ADD-VIDEO-ID" with "echo get_post_meta ($ Post-> ID, 'ID', true) "would work? If not, why?
$ ADD-VIDEO-ID = get_post_meta ($ post-> ID 'ID', true), array $ params = ('video_id' => $ ADD-VIDEO-ID ", video_fields '=>' shortDescription, name, videoStillURL, id ');
