WordPress theme design needs help?

Hello, using WordPress for my blog. In the header put the Category menu. I want that when you click in a category, in a bar on the right you will see a link in the list of all posts in that category. A link with an icon that I choose when I write that position. Please tell me how? Tell me a plugin for bar code or I have to add to my site? (And how to edit topics, editing PHP files and CSS?). I really need your help. Dear, good luck to you and not forget me.
