The good the bad and the ugly of Web Hosting - Myth and Reality

Whether you are just starting with online marketing that face many decisions and choices. An important choice you make can mean the difference between utter frustration and satisfaction. After more than 16 years of online marketing that I have had my share of both.

In this case I mean the selection of a place to host your website. Unless you are a well-funded newcomer, it is necessary rent space online to host your website. Web hosting is almost as many options as there are marketing plans online.

Depending on their nature and immediacy of need, you may want to know about it first. But I'll tell you about the bad first.

The first myth to be aware of are the claims about unlimited hosting. Most web hosting companies offer unlimited bandwidth and unlimited hosting space. If you buy the right service can even host domains unlimited from a single account. The claim that's the best part of being true is the ability to host more than one domain of a single host.

But this feature to host multiple domains, in fact, limited by the unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space supposedly host.

In fact, I lost count of the number of times I have been asked to leave the host company unless I upgraded my unlimited account. The truth is that only you can get unlimited bandwidth and unlimited hosting space to some extent. You go to your website and get a terrible message saying something like "this account has been suspended."

Immediately panic and wonder what went wrong. Surely there must be some temporary problem on the internet. We hope will be a problem to resolve itself after a few minutes. When you press the refresh button and wait. After waiting a little more time. Then contact support. Hopefully they actually have the direct support that said they did when you registered.

In fact, I got the message over the last week, so I contacted support. Unfortunately, this host did not support live chat. I was required to submit a problem ticket and then wait for the response back via email. For some inexplicable reason, gave me no reason, just switch it on again - after 2 days.

If they do have the live chat support may also ask you to submit a problem report to someone else can look at the account and return you to your explanation. This is where you can get bad news of unlimited bandwidth you thought you had.

As a result, all the host sites have a weasel clause in their terms and conditions. In essence, this clause says that if your website makes the activity server to be shut down too. If you're lucky you might speak in some kind of maneuver that helps keep your mind a bit the way it is today.

If you have a WordPress blog based on the simplest solution may be to install a cache plugin. The plug-in will actually create a file in the reception area. This requires more resources than simply have the file already in place. Perhaps the host take this as a solution.

However, the web host could mean you have to upgrade to a dedicated server at 10 times their normal cost. So there goes the myth of unlimited bandwidth.

Another problem the guest can imagine is that you have too many files in your system. Miraculously also appears to impact the problem of bandwidth. In one case, told me that I was obliged reduce the number of files in my account. This account is supposed to host an unlimited space and unlimited domains. The only solution was to move some of the domains to another host site.

Here comes the ugly part.

Sometimes a bad host does not disappear. Five years ago I canceled the hosting account due to sheer incompetence. After 5 days and repeated contacts with the support, eventually will be returned money after the charges in dispute with paypal.

His service was a sorry excuse and a great example of the fallacy of unlimited services. Was about 30 domains hosted on an account that is supposed to include unlimited domains, space and bandwidth. First they told me I need a dedicated server which costs $ 960 a year compared with the $ 180 that had been paying. Instead, he convinced me to pay another $ 180 just to get an unlimited account seconds.

On 6 months later he contacted me again to repeat its request for an update. This time I agreed. I was about several domains hosted more with about 400,000 files. My income was more than enough to cover the cost and the idea of spending all that was very discouraging.

Unfortunately, the host in poor transfer miserably. After repeated attempts, could not get the new server to function properly. In the process they also lost the files of two major domains. Although it is supposed to have full backups, could never find them. I mixture of new files on my computer files.

I was tired of them and their incompetence and began to move all sites to new hosts. I was finally rid of the memory of your stupidity until I got the new charges.

However, the good part.

Now I have a great web host with great live chat support and super rates. The web hosted IPage sites are so good that I totally unlimited I have two accounts with them. With two accounts I have plenty of room for growth and the ability to move the domains about whether the use of an account is excessive. Overuse can be a great thing because it can indicate success. The receiver itself should have a good one.

In fact, I IPage opened the second due to the incompetence of two other host companies who also have accounts at present. There was a great WordPress plugin that I installed in the Two other shelters that do not work. In a host of companies I contacted support about it. After looking at what I was told that the problem was a faulty plug. The attendance problem was even sent to the line of executive support staff.

However, I have installed the target = "_blank" title = "Wordpress Plugin"> IPage plug-in and it worked perfectly. This only shows that there is good support, poor support, good hosts and guests badly. Choose the right destination and can concentrate on building your website.
