Social Media for Your Business - Getting Started
Social Media is an internet phenominan that has soared in the last five years in marketing scene. Social media is "a category of practices, technology, online tools and sites that rely on social relationships, participation and user generated content "(successful blog 2010).
Social media focuses on the use of Internet technologies to connect with the audience and draw them into a conversation onging. It's about making a more personal connection and exchange of information. When used in conjunction with a site well-designed site, the success of social media helps to keep the audience engaged and committed to a brand or company.
In other words, half of very basic social communication network can allow a user reads a message on a non-profit blog, log into your account on Facebook, leave a link and a message to his friends, who, in turn, can follow the link to the blog and also read the message. It is a network of sites, in which a company can generate content, control the message, but includes users a new and positive.
Because of the interconnectedness of nature of social media, supporters and the public can be extended and actually create the content. This participation in the immidiate result viusal its support for a cause is one of the main benefits of social media that keeps users to deceive you, engaged and mobilized.
Social media can take many forms but largely Internet-based software (and rapidly shifting the telephone base) that allows the exchange of photographs, text, video, audio, emoticons and links between users in a way that creates bonds, relationships and communities.
Some well known examples of social media business include:

- myspace
- wordpress
Social media has a lot power marketing. An example is the Greenpeace campaign against Nestle in 2010. Greenpeace Nestle were subjected to the introduction of the use of oil Palm, who has a history of contributing to deforestaion, destruction of natural habitat and oranutang contirbuting climate change (Greenpeace 2010).
Since social website, mailing lists and extensive media network, Greenpeace targeted at users bomb the Nestlé Fan Page Facebook with negative messages until Nestlé agreed to stop using palm oil from Sinar MasGroup the governement and engage in discussions Indonesia reforestation.
On March 17, 2010 Greenpeace supporters began to hit the Facebook page of Nestlé with a negative message every 4 seconds. One week after began the campaign received a negative page publication every 90 seconds. That is 40 negative messages an hour, 960 day, which equates to a lot negative press. There was so much negative press by Nestlé that the incident made headlines in international news. Nestlé quickly agreed to the demands Greenpeace and Sinar Mas replaced with a new provider and have joined a number of groups to find solutions forrestry in the region of Indonesia.
