How to create blog quickly and easily
Creating a blog is easy nowadays, as long as you have a good site hosting web - most of them are quite good at this sort of thing, so there's an excellent chance that your current web hosting provider offering what I describe below. So how do you create a blog to make it up and running as quickly as possible?
Start by entering your control panel web hosting. It is a good chance that this will have a button labeled "Fantastico" (some machines use a service called "Softaculous" which does the same thing). Choose that and follow the instructions to install WordPress. A couple of clicks later, you have a basic version of WordPress installed. In the unlikely event that this does not work, you need to download a copy of WordPress and FTP to your site.
The standard installation of WordPress needs some adjustments before it is useful:
1. Delete the "Hello World" post
There is an initial message called "Hello World" included whenever gets a new WordPress blog. Delete this before Google has the opportunity to index. Replace with your first post, as soon as possible.
2. Modification page "About"
It's standard text again. You must be modified to say something about you, even if only a sentence or two until it goes.
3. Modify or eliminate Blogroll
There is a list of links that appear by default. Delete any you do not want and add in the new links you would like to include in the navigation of your blog.
4. Change settings
The default WordPress needs to change. Permalinks structure is not easy to use - most people change to a custom version, such as:
/% Postname% /
There is a good chance that you want to change the configuration of the discussion as well - spammers have been known to abuse of the configuration default to automatically approve comments from someone who has had a comment approved.
5. Add additional plugins
WordPress is highly customizable. Akismet is a spam protection included and works well (they are alternatives if you do not like). You will need a WordPress API key, but this is readily available, following the instructions on screen and can be reused in more than a blog
I add in a smart pinger (There are many around), which saves you from spam engine ping every time you edit an existing message. I also add in a cache because I am an optimist and I like to think my blog is going to face when you are busy. I also add a plug for SEO optimization to help securities and other defaults more friendly search engines.
6. Change the mail
The default theme is pretty ugly and it is worth changing, although it said Many people do not care and just keep your blog as it is. You can view topics free from your WordPress control panel and it's worth trying a few to see which preferred. If none of the free themes to meet their standards, there are plenty of places that sell inexpensive items, or you can download a program such as artists and create your own.
7. Start blogging!
After all, it was the idea of creating a blog. Remember to add categories to their messages and to include labels for the pages are easy to find.
