WordPress Administrator Panel
Editing of a WordPress theme .. help?
Hello, I'm new to WordPress and not a great programmer. Can you tell me when I'm on the panel administrator and go to themes-> Edit and select footer.php mean, I can simply enter the code in the file and click "update file" and make it all work? If I'm inserting HTML code differently? Thanks! 2 questions if you know the answer. 1) when editing from the page editing panel topics and click the update file, is that actually make the appropriate changes 2) how to insert HTML in php-as there is no label this is html it will work?
First backup your files. You can edit the theme files through the theme editor or in local on your machine. Click Refresh on the dashboard saves the changes. If you want to add HTML code you can. Thematic pages are pages html, HTML and PHP coding, and if you look at the header and footer that will see the HTML tags. So if you want to add a snippet html, do eg:
This is my site
You can use any HTML code you want, but it seems cowardly. You may have to play around to see what it looks good.
