Generate business website - a simple checklist to go through before you start

Before you start building your website, it is important to understand clearly you want to accomplish. This list will help with that. As always, preparation is the key. You may not need to use everyone. Just use what works for you.

The main information to prepare

  • Blog / website title - a short but compelling word or phrase that expresses the purpose of your site web. The title should certainly focus on its main keyword (s).
  • Blog / web tag line - a sub-header for the title, where you can add to attract more readers. Again, use your main keyword or keyword phrases related.
  • Blog / web keywords - identify three main keywords for your blog.
  • Its main email address - it's a good idea to book an email address further, specifically for web site management (GMail is recommended). You need this e-mail to manage your blog. And when you hire web site maintenance, you can give to this address and the password for the outsourcing or staff without hesitation.
  • Blog categories - If you are creating a blog, the categories will help you keep your blog organized and easily searchable. Be sure to identify the category names that are also good words for your market.

Web site structure

The purpose of the business website is usually to get a sale or lead, or build your brand. The website structure should reflect that. Here are the structures that can be used.

  • Classic room - a business website (Relatively) static pages at home, Contact, Products, etc
  • Blog - A website with the homepage change. Each blog post appears at the top of the page.
  • Landing page (or exclusion on the page) - A one-page order to get a sale or take one. It is used for lead generation, or as a landing page for Google AdWords.

Combinations - you can always combine the structures Basic Up:

  • Classic site with a blog (blogsite)
  • Classic site landing page (s)
  • Site classic with a squeeze page and blog (s)
  • Blog and landing page (s)

Data access checklist

Your access to data checklist will help you keep track of the information you need to effectively manage your business website. Your staff and subcontractors You also need this information to manage the website for you.

  • CPanel hosting your company (or other) login URL, the name and Password
  • Your website FTP address, the name and password
  • Address administrator login, the name and password if you are using systems such as WordPress
  • Dedicated email address (as mentioned above) the name and password
  • Any other services you use in your website. For example, Yahoo ID, Google Analytics access codes (using the Gmail account above), Web 2.0 login data (ID and password for Twitter, Facebook ,...)

Your access data checklist may look like this:

  • Hosting - URL: <url yourhostingprovider>;
  • Username: hostingusername
  • Password: hostingpassword
  • FTP - URL: FTP> your hosting <url
  • Username: ftpusername
  • Password: ftppassword
  • WordPress Blog - URL: <yourdomain url / wp-admin>
  • Username: admin
  • Password: blogpassword
  • Email: youremail@gmail.com
  • Mail mail Username: admin
  • Email Password: blogpassword
