WordPress Add Filter

wordpress how to do this?

I am making a wordpress theme and I thought I'd include a custom section to display messages like the recent posts widget, but with the filtered messages in accordance with their respective category. Is there a plugin to do this, or should I code this. If so, do you know of any tutorial that because my knowledge of WP are of color? Best regards

you need a custom loop. I do not know there is a plugin for this since we never have need for this type of plugin. WordPress Codex should have the examples requires http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop
