Let’s face it – the standard theme you get with a WordPress install is rather dull looking. They look okay, but your blog would benefit from a theme or template that is more fitting to your subject matter.

There are plenty of sites where themes can be downloaded for free, so
try any of the following to see which themes you can find that are
appropriate to your subject matter or topic:

Find a theme that suits your site, download it to your computer and
then FTP it to the wp-admin area of your site.

If this sounds complicated, do not worry.
There are full instructions of how to upload a
new theme to your site on the WordPress.org site or you can watch a
video on it at http://markvschwartz.com/193/setting-up-a-wordpress-blog-tip-13v/

With the new theme in place your site will look much more impressive.
