Setup WordPress Ubuntu
Forwarding a subdomain through GoDaddy?
I have a godaddy domain name, and I like to have a sub-domain then the domain name to a specific directory on my HTTP server configuration (blog.example.com -> example.com / blog). I can get the settings to redirect without masking, but leaves the user will ultimately see "example.com / blog / home" instead of "blog.example.com / home". When I let masking it always changes the name of wherever I'm at the site to blog.example.com. I have full access to the configuration of my domain as well as running WordPress a server on an Ubuntu machine. Anyone have any idea? If not clear to me, I can try to clarify.
Nope. DNS refers exclusively to the translation a domain name to an IP address. It is strictly a function layer3. You can not do anything about the TCP port or anything higher in the OSI model as FQDN / otherstuff. If you want to do this through DNS need a separate IP address. Even that will help you try to get DNS to worry about anything beyond the full name.
