We are going to use WordPress as the platform for our authority site because it’s so popular, so powerful, so flexible and so user friendly. And most importantly, the search engines like Google love WordPress blogs.

Once you have your domain name set up with your hosting company you need to install WordPress into it.  Most hosting companies have what is called CPanel, which is the dashboard for how you manage your hosted domains.

You will probable be using Fantastico to install your wordpress blog.  It is a small script that helps you install WordPress with just a few clicks.

Webhosting services that don’t use Fantastico, will offer Simple Script or Push Button Solutions which work much the same way.  If you use GoDaddy, good luck is all I can say.  Their hosting dashboard is a pain in the ^$$, unfriendly, slow, unwieldy, bass-ackwards and fraught with delays.

When you install your blog, make sure you keep the login details AND the name of the SQL database that was created (it may come in handy down the road).
