Using the panel of WordPress Plugins
The dashboard is designed to give you full access plugins to manage plugins in the WordPress site based. From here you can install, activate, disable and permanently remove plugins as you see fit. You can get on the dashboard of your browser plugins to open and pointing to your web dashboard (http://yoursite.com/wp-admin). When you get there, click Add. Below is a list of all plugins WordPress. At this point, if you have not added any plug-ins, you should see only a few on the list. These are the default plugins that come with WordPress.
This screen shows you everything you need to know about your plugins. At the top, just below the Manage Add-ons, you can see several links that give various views group of all plugins and each link allows you to switch between groups of category. The categories are:
- All - Displays all the plugins you have installed
- Active - shows all the plugins you have installed and currently active on your site.
- Off - Displays a list of plugins you have available in the system but is not active at present.
- Update available - Gives a list of plugins you have in the system that needs an update. Authors plugin create plugin upgrades to add new features or possible to address security issues.
- Is active - Displays recently deactivated plugins. This list is useful if you accidentally disable a plug-in and the need to quickly re-started.
All plugins are listed in the middle of the page. Each displays its name and description. Just below the name and description are active and delete links for each plugin for WordPress. If a plugin is activated is Off place. Right to activate, delete and off the links are the current version of the plug and possibly links to the author and the site of plugins.
To the left of each plugin in the list is a check box. Check boxes are used in conjunction with the list box bulk actions. If you select all the plugins or a couple, can selecting an action from the list and perform the action all add-ons selected. this capability can save time if you change the declared number of plugins at once.
CAUTION: Deleting Permanently
Removing a plugin permanently deletes all files associated with the plugin. If you do not use a plug-in now and will possibly try again later, I suggest you just disable the plugin. If plugins are cramming the workspace and not to use anymore, there's nothing wrong with removing old plugins.
Below the menu items are plugins following:
- Installed - takes you to a list of all plugins installed, or if updates are available, this option takes you to the list of plugins that have an update available.
- Add new - takes you to the search screen to begin searching plugins you may want to install. This option allows you to search the list of plugins available at WordPress.org. You can also load a plugin that was obtained directly from a programmer.
- Editor - Allows you to edit the code of the plugins. If you are not familiar with PHP, you will not need the editor.
NOTE: The file permissions for Plugins
To edit files properly and be able to save, you may need to check your file permissions the files to ensure they have access to write to them.
CAUTION: Be careful when editing
Edition plug-ins can become unstable unless you know what is changing. Use editor option with caution.
