I downloaded a free 3 column wordpress theme and I change the layout and style of the subject, I would like to offer this item for free download, but you can change the footer of the theme? This is a copy right message at the footer file: WARNING: * This file is protected by copyright. To reverse engineer or decode this file is strictly prohibited. * / Only the design remain 3 column theme, but change the whole image and design in the subject, in this case I can change the footer?

No way! By the way, that is what the notice says. Change the colors / graphics does not mean that the item is yours. Make your own wordpress theme, and offer for download. There are plenty of tutorials on how to make one based on the classic theme.
