Download WordPress For Mac
Clicking my main url downloads a "download.gz" file. Reasons?
To explain, I am terrible at troubleshooting my website. So when this started, I got really flustered and can't figure it out.
Basically, clicking on my url [http://kristopherknight.com/] in Firefox or Chrome [Mac tested only] prompts a "download.gz" file to start downloading. That file contains all the front page information.
I can say that I recently built a test page for my site, as I'm hacking together a new theme that's more IE compatible, so I was messing around with stuff this weekend. What on earth could I have messed with that prompts the browser to download like that?

Site Hosted with AN Hosting [uses cPanel for upkeep]
Site built with WordPress [3.0.?]
Site does not look right at all in IE, so anyone helping should not open it in that [again, I'm bought a theme I'm customizing for this very reason]
Your site has a lot of complicated features in it, many of which I'm unfamiliar with. I'm a big believe in keeping things simple. The more complicated, the more things to break.
So, first thing: simplify. Assuming the theme you purchased is good out of the box, get that up and running all by itself. No customizations, not a one.
Then go back and begin your customization, one step at a time. I.e., change one thing, test it. Change a second thing, test it. When you hit something that causes breakage, you've found the culprit -- back that change out.
Remember to test in both IE and Firefox each time. You don't really need to test in anything else except for some unusual circumstances. Most of the time, IE is the only one that's different.
Now, if the theme all by itself doesn't work, then you have a beef with the person who sold it to you. Either get them to fix it or try to get a refund, or just get a different theme from somebody else in any event.
