How to export and import a WordPress site

The reasons often vary from new domain, new host, a place of shade, etc. Fortunately, WordPress makes it easy to export and import tools. Follow these simple steps to transfer the contents of a WordPress site to another.

Export content

Go the management dashboard WordPress site to export.
Find the menu "Tools" along the menu bar on the left.
Click 'Export'.
You will be presented with an option "Restrict the author. From this menu, select" All authors (default) or a specific individual.
Click the "Download Export File".
A message appears asking what to do with the file, select "Save File".
File is stored in the download directory on your browser.
Its contents, including messages, pages, comments, custom fields, categories and labels stored in a special format on your hard disk WordPress.

Import the contents to the new site

In The management dashboard of your new site, go to "Tools" and click "Import."
Select 'WordPress' at the bottom of the list.
Click "Browse ..." to locate the file you just exported.
Click "Upload file and import".
The next screen allows you to change the name of the author for posts. You can keep the original, create a name, or assign a name existing copyright.
Select the checkbox if want to "Download and import file attachments" (default is off).
Click "Send".
The site is not complete to export imported into a different site.

There you have it, the content of a site is reflected in elsewhere. We recommend checking after importing all that is meant to be. You may have to make some modifications to do whatever they want, especially if you are using a different theme on the new site.
