W2 vs 1099?

I am a proffessional who is looking to go and start hiring independently. I worked so far and was paid fixed annual salary. My question is abt 1099 vs. W2. While I understand the basic diffefrence including How to compare a job that pays $ 50/hr W2 vs me in a job that pays $ 50/hr in 1099. Keep other considerations aside as a contribution to the 401 (k), employee / contractor status, medical / dental insurance etc, that the 2 is the most lucrative contract to take aa. PS: Can anyone point me to a website / blog / url that can help me in understanding the types market for a project manager in the IT field.

Note - and contract that is receiving a 1099, which is much lower 50/hr. One of the biggest reasons is that you have to cover their full Social Security and Medicare. Normally an employee who receives a W2, and your employer to split the cost of taxes in half with each payment of 6.2% for Social Security and 1.45 for Medicare. Now that self-employed contract that must pay the whole thing - 12.4 and 2.9 respectively. You must also pay the bill for their own insurance, etc. .. often times employees are unaware that their employer subsizes up to 90 percent of these costs as well.
