33 Adding Original Content by Reviewing Videos
Here’s an Internet Marketing Strategy for adding original content to your blog using YouTube videos. I am using this method to kick-start my content building efforts on my http://survivalskillsandgear.com authority site project.
Using this approach we will leverage other people’s expert video content and put it in our blogs. The idea is to create a traffic magnet website that the search engines, like Google love.
Find a video in the same niche market/topic area as the blog you are working on. For example, for the blog on promise rings, search YouTube and find videos that are about promise rings.
You will need to “embed” the youtube HTML code into the blog post. Make sure you have the blog article box set to compose in HTML instead of Visual, or the HTML code will not work.
The videos you add to each sites will add value and drive free traffic to various posts on the site. Some people will then link to the post. These links to my site increase my sites pagerank, anchor text and general SEO goodness of the site, this increases the traffic and the synergy begins.
Videos work great because one of our goals is to drive traffic the blog. Content that matters. Videos get people to slow down their online browsing long enough to think, “Hey! This site has exactly what I am looking for!”
- Add New Post (NOT Page)
- Search YouTube for a video based on the blog/keywords I supplied you with. (You can also search Flickr images – just make sure they have been designated for publication commercially)
- While watching the videos make notes, make bullet points, about the videos. Take notes on the video, no need to transcribe per say the entire video, rather simply create bullet points on the most important points of the helpful video. You may want to write your article in Microsoft Word because it has a spelling and grammar checker. Then copy and paste it into WordPress.
- Insert the YouTube Embed code (don’t use the iFrame code) of the videos into the new post (article).
- Pick 445 to 560 wide in size
- Uncheck the “include related videos” box
- Check the “Use old embed code” box
- Then click on the Share button
- Then click on the Embed button and select the HTML code
Here are two videos. The screens differ a bit than what you may see, but you will be able to figure it out. Just remember to use embed code and not iframes or the embed url methods.
Below the post do a short article about the video (200-350 words +/-). Be positive, upbeat, informal, personable. Never be negative. If it is a lousy video find a different one to write about.
- Use the checklist above to make sure you have included all of the key ingredients in each posting you are doing.
- Only ONE category should be checked for each post.
