My Internet Marketing Strategies Journey to Success
This post is going to cover some more of the miscellaneous set up issues for the http://survivalskillsandgear.com project blog we are working on.
Avatars allow the display of photos and/or images right along the comments visitors post. Likewise, if and when you choose to respond to any such comments, your photo/image will also be displayed if you had signed up to it. Avatars let people feel more involved because they can have their own picture display next to all their comments. You can create your own avatar at gravatar.com. Once you have your gravatar and you use the same username and email on your blog it will automatically be set up for in wordpress.
Custom Menus are something that I never used nor understood until recently. They give you customized options that will result in Top Navigation buttons that link to the most important pages of your website.
If you look at the Survival Skills blog you will see a bunch of tabs at the top of the top navigation menu. Normally, you would see an About, Home Privacy, Contact Me, etc. tabs here. However, I don’t want to display them. I only want the pages I created from my keyphrases to display.
By creating a custom menu we can make sure that only the pages we want to display at the top, do indeed display.
Privacy You can choose to designate your site as one that is visible to everyone (search engines and visitors) or only to visitors while blocking search engines.
Once your site has sufficient content and has already been SEO optimized, it is highly advisable to make it visible to everyone, including Google, Yahoo and Bing for indexing, page ranking and driving traffic.
