In this post we are going to cover the installation and use of the All in One SEO WordPress plugin and why we need it in building our http://survivalskillsandgear.com authority site. This is a project blog we are working on with the goal of having authority website (in this case a blog) that we can monetize and make some money from.

This is one of the most important plugins you can use.

From the Add Plugins to a search on “All in one seo” . You will see a lot of options because other plugin writers are trying to get noticed by using part of the same name. You want All in One SEO Pack because it optimizes your WordPress blog for Search Engines (Search Engine Optimization).

After you install the plugin you will need to go to the All in One Settings link and enable the plugin.

You will need to enter a Home Title (up to 62 characters) and this is the most important field. Home description is the second most important. You can somewhat ignore the Keywords field – google doesn’t look at them. However, Bing and Yahoo do. I enter single words for the keywords instead of phrases.

ReWrite Title:

The other thing to change is the Post Title Format: Where it says “%post_title% | %blog_title%” delete the %blog_title% part. In fact, wherever you see “ | %blog_title%” delete it.

For %category_title% | %blog_title%, change it to say %category_description%. This way, your categories descriptions add to your SEO searchability, etc. Your screen should look like this.
