Join in on my Internet Marketing Strategies Journey to Success

I’ve had many years of experience in IT and marketing in the corporate world. I’ve handled eight figure budgets and have led dozens of marketing campaigns. In the corporate world I had the money handed to me to do it and I had teams around me to execute. Boy, was I spoiled (and naive).

internet marketing strategiesWhen I first started out on my own, doing my own thing, I did not believe it would be difficult. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I was literally hopeless at generating traffic let alone profits from a standing start. Previously if I wanted traffic I’d kick off an adwords campaign and the traffic would materialize. If I wanted conversions I’d write another check. But without those resources on tap I had to learn again from scratch and figure out brand new ways to make an impact.

When I finally swallowed my pride and decided I needed some coaching. To start my Internet Marketing education I paid D.G., of the Internet Marketing Center, a boatload of money for private mentoring and coaching. Boy, what a complete rip-off. $10,000 down the drain and all I have to show for it is a lousy website on foreclosure fraud. Ever since then I have been really gun shy about paying money for mentoring (at least at those prices).

It took me two more years before I recovered. In that time I bought a bunch of $39 to $150 courses on Internet Marketing, but none of them really clicked. Oh yes, I did learn alot about Internet Marketing. I also learned that the gurus of internet marketing are for the most part a bunch of sleazy insiders that work in tandem with each other. Oh well, what I learned was stay away from the big internet marketing machines, you’re just a hunk of meat to them.

Then I was incredibly fortunate to find Brian Johnson and his Auto Cash Content program (now closed). ACC was amazingly inexpensive and had an enoromous amount of valuable content. Without a good experience of the IM world a guy turning out great materials on Internet marketing became a welcome experience. I knew this was the exception after having encountered some of the other “training” programs out there.

As Brian revealed his methods in all his videos and literature I’d be thinking, “Wow! That’s amazing!” I was still transiting from a corporate mindset (throw money at it) to an independent one (leverage limited resources and build over time). By the end of the course I’d learned just enough to be a danger to myself and others (my fault). Always making assumptions, always rushing ahead, always thinking things were obvious while missing the vital subtleties. I’ll be honest, I concluded Brian’s methods were ponderous and unsophisticated compared to what I was used to. So I did it my way and made enough money to buy a McDonald’s Happy meal, whereas Brian went on to bank six or seven figures.

Now, Brian has a new course out called 300 Internet Marketers (It may be closed by the time you read this). It is a 5-6 month group coaching program. I have signed up for it and I can tell you that the materials in the course are amazing.  I’m paying $77 a month, for five months for the program – which is cheap compared to what the so-called thieving gurus charge.

Over the next few months I will be documenting all of my experiences and the “internet marketing strategies” I am learning with the 300 Internet Marketers program.
