Troubleshooting: Static Home page in WordPress?

I'm setting up a new site powered by WP, WP Theme fearlessness. I followed this guide to set a static front / home page (http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page). As predicted this guide now I have two "home" links on my navigation bar. Although the guide describes the cure, I am unable to follow, since I'm not familiar with PHP. Can anyone please help me with step by step guide on how to solve this problem, please? REF: (http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page (See navigation bar))
